Bathroom Remodeling in Houston

Bathrooms take more daily water exposure than almost any other room in the house, and Houston's humidity doesn't make that easier. We rebuild them to actually hold up — proper waterproofing behind the tile, not just a new surface over old problems.

Built to Handle Houston Humidity, Not Just Look Good

A lot of the bathroom calls we get in the Houston area start with a soft spot in the floor near the tub, or grout that's been failing for years and finally let water behind the wall. When that happens, the drywall and backer board behind the tile usually need to come out completely — you can't tile over a problem and expect it to stay fixed. We tear back to solid substrate, install proper cement board and waterproofing membrane, then build the finish tile on top of that, including any niche, bench, or accent band you want.

For bathrooms that just need updating rather than repair — older tub/shower combos, dated vanities, or a layout that wastes space — we handle everything from a straightforward tub-to-shower conversion to a full gut remodel with a new layout, vanity, and lighting.

Signs Your Bathroom Needs Attention

  • Soft or spongy flooring near the tub or shower
  • Grout or caulk that's failed and won't hold a seal anymore
  • A musty smell that doesn't go away with cleaning
  • A tub/shower combo that no longer fits how the household uses it
  • Dated vanity, fixtures, or a layout that wastes space

What Drives the Cost

Tile selection is the first major cost factor — large-format porcelain and natural stone cost more than standard ceramic, and mosaic accent bands or niches add labor time. The bigger swing, though, is what's behind the old tile: a straightforward re-tile over sound substrate costs far less than a job where we find water-damaged drywall or backer board and have to rebuild the wall before any new tile goes up. Layout changes — converting a tub to a shower, moving a vanity, or relocating plumbing — also add cost beyond a like-for-like refresh.

Why Homeowners Choose Us for Bathroom Remodels

We don't tile over a problem to save a day of labor. If we open a wall and find water damage, we'll show you what we found and price the fix before covering it back up — not after. That's slower than a quick refresh, but it's the difference between a bathroom that lasts and one you're calling someone back for in two years.

Bathroom Remodeling Questions

How do you handle water damage you find once the tile is removed?

We stop, show you what we found, and price the repair as an add to the estimate before closing the wall back up. We don't tile over damaged substrate.

Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?

Yes, tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most common bathroom projects, including reworking the plumbing and adding a niche or bench.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A tub-to-shower conversion or vanity/tile refresh usually runs 1-2 weeks. A full gut remodel with layout changes typically takes 3-4 weeks.

Do I need to move out during the remodel?

Not usually, unless it's your only bathroom. We'll talk through timing so you're not without water access longer than necessary.
